Nestled above the breathtaking bluff of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet, Kachemak Landing Airpark is the Homer area’s first and only private, residential airpark! It was designed to cater to the needs of the Alaskan aviation community while being surrounded by the beautiful wilderness that the Homer area has to offer. The vision of the community came to light as developers, and sisters, Kristina Haynes and Amy Ashley became more involved in the aviation community. It was evident that there was a great need and desire for general aviation facilities and hangar homes. They acquired the Tulin Skyline Heights subdivision, and will see the project to completion, providing the Southern Kenai Peninsula Area with a residential airpark.
The subdivision encompasses 71.59 acres, 50 lots, including the gravel runway and taxiways. Tract A is the runway and taxiway lot. It runs down the entire community, giving each lot direct access. The runway will be built to 3,000 feet long, 60 feet wide, with 2x 100’ thresholds and 1,800’ feet of taxiway. After Tract A and the utility lot are accounted for, there will be 48 residential lots available for sale. Aviation businesses may own land, store planes and run the background operations out of their hangars but there are to be no commercial passenger flights or excessive touch and goes.
Kachemak Airpark will establish an HOA to help maintain reasonable use and improve the community and surrounding areas. The HOA will retain one lot as a utility lot to house any storage or equipment that the HOA may need, and continued maintenance of the runway will be provided by the HOA.
Infrastructure will be completed in 2024-2025, at which point lots will go to market. Kachemak Landing will encourage all buyers to start building homes and hangars upon purchase.
